Latest News - September 2019

September proved to be a month filled with music and dance. At our Saturday Lunch Club Amerissa Vogiatzi taught the most wonderful Latin Dance class, where we all enjoyed a bit of Salsa, Bacatta and Merenge, along with a Latin themed lunch. As we move into October we look forward to Amerissa teaching with us on a monthly basis. Her classes are free for all project members - see below for details.

We were also lucky enough to have the fabulous Jasmine Ee host a Lunch Club session of contemporary dance, catering for all abilities. We learned a gentle and expressionist routine as well as stretching and general movement.

Our Friday morning sessions also gained a new staff member. Erin will now join us for coffee, biscuits and Boccia as well as our usually chatty Friday morning fun. Everyone is welcome to join, just turn up at the centre on a Friday at 11am.

Finally, we also saw the success of one of our community events - Mindfulness Music Festival - which lots of our Older People's Project members attended. We had some great singers including Maria Papadaki, Dean Lotherington, Martin Adair, Louisa Beard and the Sirens Berni Bishop and Hartley Wilson. What an amazing show they put on for us! Aswelll as our sponsor Likewise.

A massive thank you to all our guest artists this month and as usual a massive thank you to our regular volunteers and team - Steve, Mary and Dereje. You really made September a spectacular month here at the centre.

Thank you, you amazing people!
